Behind the pumping rod, a small foot pedal is attached by which the floor jack can be pumped quickly and easily to fit beneath the chassis. After this, pumping can be continued with the large pump handle. 

T-handle: control mechanism for valve inside. The knob for opening and closing is at the top of the handle.
