The ratcheting mechanism can be opened easily. You can now insert the cable in the open ratchet mechanism and it can be closed again. Now you can cut the cable into pieces with little effort by
opening and closing the two yellow arms (like a pump). Through this mechanism the cable cutter can be built very compact. It is thus extremely space-saving and can be used even in hard to reach
places.
